About EPFO Exam:


EPFO is abbreviated as Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation. In a recent circular, it has notified about the EPFO Assistant Recruitment 2019.  EPFO Assistant Prelims exam is to be held on 30th July and 31st July, 2019. EPFO exam is conducted by IBPS. So the syllabus and structure of the exam will be same as the IBPS exams.

Salary Info:


EPFO is offering a great career option with a good pay scale under 7th Pay Commission. The EPFO Social Security Assistant will get an entry pay of Rs 25,500 plus other allowances according to the rules that may increase from time to time. Overall, it will be worth it to work as a social security assistant in EPFO.

Pattern:

On preparation towards the EPFO exams, it is important to learn or analyse the strategy in the smartest way to clear the exam easily. Before this, EPFO SSA exam has three stage of online test i.e

1. Tier I (Preliminary)
2. Tier II(Mains).
3. Computer Skill Test (Computer Data Entry Test)

Prelims Syllabus and Pattern:


It has three sections for 100 marks. Always remember that there is a sectional cut off for all the sects which will be decided by IBPS.

The sections are:

1. English Language - 30 Marks
2. Numerical Ability - 35 Marks
3. Reasoning Ability - 35 Marks

Section wise syllabus:


English Language:


1. Reading comprehension -  10 Questions (1 Passage)
2. Grammar (Error Spotting, Phrase Replacement, Fill in the Blanks, Phrase Replacement) - 10 Questions
3. Vocabulary (synonyms and antonyms ) - 5 Questions
4. Verbal Ability (Para Jumbles) - 5 Questions

Numerical Ability:


1. Simplification - 10-15 Questions
2. Number Series - 3-5 Questions
3. Average - 1-3 Questions
4. Interest - 1-3 Questions
5. Mensuration - 2-4 Questions
6. Percentage - 1-2 Questions
7. Ratio & Proportion - 1-3 Questions
8. Algebra - 3-5 Questions
9. Profit & Loss - 1-3 Questions
10. Time, Speed & Distance - 1-4 Questions
11. Data Interpretation - 5-10 Questions (1-2 sets)
12. Time & Work - 1-2 Questions
13. Permutation & Combination / Probability - 0-1 Questions
14. Mixture Problems(Quadratic and some other problems) - 0-2 Questions
15. Number System - 0-1 Questions
16. Data Sufficiency - 0-5 Questions

If you wish to score more than 30 Marks in Aps section, then follow the above strategy. In this section practicing and speed of solving the problem is more important, So Keep practicing.

Reasoning Ability:

4. Coded Inequalities or Mathematical Inequalities 0-5 Questions (likely of Coded Inequalities)
5. Directions & Distances 0-2 Questions
6. Coding-Decoding 4-10 Questions
7. Blood Relations 1-5 Questions
8. Order & Ranking 0-5 Questions
9. Circular Seating Arrangement 5 Questions
10. Linear Seating Arrangement 5 Questions
11. Analytical Decision Making 0-5 Questions
12. Syllogisms 0-5 Questions
13. Data Sufficiency 0-5 Questions
14. Double Line-Up 0-5 Questions
15. Scheduling 0-5 Questions
16. Grouping & Selection Problems on teams and committees asked. 0-5 Questions
17. Series 0-2 Questions
18. Verbal Reasoning 0-5 Questions

In this section, every one can score 35 Marks if you keep practicing. Every questions will be based on logic.

If you feel difficult to prepare all the topics, you can prepare only specific topics by that you will be able to score more than 25 Marks.

Mains Syllabus:


It has four sections for 200 marks. Always remember that there is a sectional cut off for all the sections which will be decided by IBPS.

The sections are:

1. English Language - 40 Marks
2. Numerical Ability - 50 Marks
3. Reasoning Ability and Computer aptitude -  60 Marks
4. General / Financial Awareness - 50 Marks
5. Descriptive Paper (English Language with emphasis on comprehension and analysis) - 30 Marks

Syllabus for the sections English, Numerical ability and Reasoning ability are same. Only some extra syllabus is added for Mains i.e Computer Aptitude and General/Financial Awareness.

General / Economy / Financial Awareness


When you start preparing for EPFO exam General studies, you've to go through the previous year question paper and analyse the questions and from which topic the questions were asked. Find the General studies syllabus below.

  2. Financial Awareness 
  3. Govt. Schemes and Policies 
  4. Current Affairs
  5. Static Awareness.

Descriptive Test:


The descriptive test is 30 minutes for a 50 marks. It is a test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). The test is qualifying in nature. Descriptive Test paper will be evaluated for only those candidates who score qualifying marks in the objective tests and are placed adequately high.

Computer Skill Test (Computer Data Entry Test):


Candidates who had cleared the mains exam will be required to appear for the Skill Test to access speed and accuracy for Data Entry Work. Minimum requirement is 5000 key depressions per hour. Candidates short-listed  from Main exam will have to appear for a Skill Test.

Important Note: Computer Skill Test will be qualifying in nature. Marks obtained will not be reckoned for merit ranking.
